About Us

Our Vision
About the Pastor

If you ask a member or a frequent guest what they like about our church, they would tell you they feel loved and that to be a part of FBC Mason is like being a part of a loving family.  That is not by accident.  We recognize we are all sinners saved by God’s grace and we are now His disciples and we want to show people Jesus when they come to worship with us.

The First Baptist Church of Mason is a church with a long history of biblical teaching.  However, like many rural Texas churches we have had to adapt some of our methods with a desire to continue to focus on the Mission God has given us.  The methods have changed but the message and the mission never does.

We also have a heritage of strong youth and children’s programs.  In the fall, we will have over 100 children and teenage students between our youth and children mid-week programs.  Many of the youth and children that come to FBC Mason mid-week do not have a family church home but they count First Baptist as their church.  We embrace that and take that stewardship seriously.

Our church is a cooperating member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist General Convention of Texas

We also are a member of the Lake Ivie Baptist Association.

We envision our church being a place that young and old eagerly look forward to the next meeting of worship, ministry, study, or fellowship because the Spirit of Christ and the unity in His spirit is so tangible our very countenance is changed.

We also look to see our programs and ministries reach into the community and win new followers to Christ and not grow our church only through child professions or disgruntled church members from other churches.  We want our church's demographic to look like the community.

We want to leverage every asset we have to win the lost and make disciples.  If that means changing and updating the facilities we hope through God’s work an embassy from heaven our facilities will be transformed to meet our missional needs.

Bryan Cawley was called to be Pastor of First Baptist Mason in January 2021.  Prior to answering this call, he has served churches in Texas and Oklahoma primarily in the areas of Students, Collegiate Ministries, and Administration.  He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Master of Theological Studies, and Texas Tech University, Bachelor of Science in Family Studies.  He has been married to Mandy for 16 years and they have two wonderful daughters, Annalise and Brynlee.  In his spare time, he enjoys Texas Rangers Baseball, Texas Tech Athletics, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family.

Bryan is passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believes everything the church does should point to the Gospel.  His hope is that First Baptist Mason embraces creativity and outside the box thinking to reach more people for Jesus and build Biblical Community that does life together and experiences the life-altering power of Jesus.

Life Verse: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age."  Matthew 28:19-20
